PRISSE D'AVENNES. EGYPTIAN ART

In 1844 Prisse dAvennes travelled from Alexandria to France, where, three years later, he published the Monuments égyptiens. The vo lume contains 51 platesmainly chromolithographs, but also some color platesbased on drawings made during his years in Egypt. This publication brings together for the first time the complete collection of these splendid illustrations of architecture, sculpture, p aintings, and industrial arts.
